Compared to the Cost of Staying at Home
Thinking about how you’re going to pay for the cost of care in a community like PPH can be scary; however, when you compare the cost of living in a community versus living at home, you might be surprised. Although the costs of a community may seem high when compared to the cost of the payment you make for your home, there are many other costs to consider. To compare apples to apples, you also need to think about many other costs associated with living in the home as well, such as taxes, maintenance and repair costs, fuel and transportation costs, gym/pool membership, entertainment costs, meals and food preparation, cost of any needed care and many other items that are included in the cost of living in a community.
SeniorLivingResidences has a well-laid out calculator to help you compare your current monthly expenses against our senior living costs. Figures indicate that the costs of staying at home while utilizing in-home care can be more than double the cost of living in an assisted living community. The cost of remaining at home can even be substantially higher even when the home is paid off.
