14th Annual PPH Benevolent Care Gala

The 2019 PPH Benevolent Care Gala will be on Friday, October 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at the Philadelphia Ballroom, 2014 Horning Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a Welcome Reception and Mobile Auction, a surf and turf dinner, raffle drawings, a photo booth and dancing to music by DJ Mark Mroz.

The program includes keynote remarks by State Representative Jared Solomon, 202nd District. State Rep. Solomon has been a longtime leader in the community and engages in many partnerships and programs to improve senior living.

Next, will be the premier of the Compassion is Benevolent Care video testimonial. The video features PPH President and CEO Anthony Manzo and Former Chair of the PPH Board of Directors, Richard Soltan, Esq. Manzo and Soltan share how PPH has impacted their professional and personal lives.

The Gala is our largest fundraising event of the year with all proceeds supporting Benevolent Care. Benevolent Care is financial help for residents who have depleted their assets and can no longer afford the cost of their care.

The need to provide Benevolent Care at PPH increases each year by 8 – 10% and PPH provides $600,000 – $650,000 in Benevolent Care annually.

You can make a difference. Your contributions share the hope of Benevolent Care with PPH residents most in need. It is the compassion of donors like you that sustain our 130-year Mission to provide a caring senior living community that affords its residents the opportunity to achieve their highest possible quality of life.

Thank you to everyone who participated in last year’s gala success.

What Residents Say

"In my two years at PPH, I’ve grown to like it very much. At first, I felt like a stranger and then as I began to talk to people, we increasingly became good friends. A way to meet people is to join clubs. I’m now part of the PPH Auxiliary. I love helping with their flea markets because you never know what you can find. Recently, I’ve joined an evening quilting class. I love that I can continue to enjoy my life outside of PPH while experiencing the offers here.….especially the pool! Everything is just so convenient.

What Families Say

"My mom is sooo happy at PPH, I can’t even describe it in strong enough words. She’s met so many new friends and these ladies do EVERYTHING together! She sees Dad every day in Pathways, but can have her life too. She’s gone to so many activities and I think I’ve already been to Scoops with her at least 15 times. She loves the dining room and Bistro too. My sister, Ilene, and I are so delighted that Mom is happy.......Wow, it feels like Mom’s been there about 2 years—but it’s only 2 months!! That’s how comfortable and natural it feels for her – and for all of us.

– Rhonda Frenkel, daughter of residents Jack & Bernice Segal
