“An Evening On The Rhine” 2015 Gala – Save the Date

Posted on: Apr 20, 2015

We hope you join us for this year’s gala, “An Evening On The Rhine.” We chose this theme to pay tribute to our German heritage during the 125th Anniversary year of the founding of our Home. Our gala is our major fundraising event to raise money for the Benevolent Care Fund at PPh. This fund allows the older adults who reside at PPh to continue receiving quality healthcare if they are no longer able to afford the costs on their own.

As older adults live longer, they face increasing costs for their care accompanied by decreasing resources. Many will encounter a financial hardship during a time in life they are also the most vulnerable. In 2014, PPh was able to provide $407,693 in benevolent care and an estimated $1,078,606 in under-compensated medical assistance to our residents. Our gala last year raised nearly $70,000 with 100 percent of the proceeds directly helping PPh residents in financial need. It is only because of generous and loyal donors that the seniors in need who have come to call PPh their home will continue to remain independent while aging with dignity and grace.

Please help us continue to make a difference by supporting our “An Evening On The Rhine Gala.”  This event will be held at Cannstatter Volksfest Verein on October 9, 2015. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception during which a silent auction filled with items that everyone will be sure to admire will run until 8:00 p.m. A sit down dinner will follow in the main ballroom with entertainment provided by the much loved band, Jellyroll. This annual event is enjoyed every year and is a great way to have a night out with friends and family while supporting a great cause!

Sponsorship opportunities are available for our 125th Anniversary gala. Please call the Fund Development Office at 215-697-8568 or email dnawn@pphfamily.org with any inquiries or to reserve your seating now!

What Residents Say

"In my nine years at PPH, I’ve grown to like it very much. At first, I felt like a stranger and then as I began to talk to people, we increasingly became good friends. A way to meet people is to join clubs. I’m now part of the PPH Auxiliary. I love helping with their flea markets because you never know what you can find. Recently, I’ve joined an evening quilting class. I love that I can continue to enjoy my life outside of PPH while experiencing the offers here.…especially the pool! Everything is just so convenient.

What Families Say

"My mom is sooo happy at PPH, I can’t even describe it in strong enough words. She’s met so many new friends and these ladies do EVERYTHING together! She sees Dad every day in Pathways, but can have her life too. She’s gone to so many activities and I think I’ve already been to Scoops with her at least 15 times. She loves the dining room and Bistro too. My sister, Ilene, and I are so delighted that Mom is happy.......Wow, it feels like Mom’s been there about 2 years—but it’s only 2 months!! That’s how comfortable and natural it feels for her – and for all of us.
