PPH welcomes new Director of Donor Development

Posted on: Nov 06, 2023

In early November, PPH warmly welcomed Marianna Calabrese to the Development Department as Director of Donor Development. Marianna, having served in health care for over 30 years in community health, engagement, and outreach has worked with employees, the community, and donors. She is looking forward to building resident relationships.

Marianna Calabrese, Director of Donor Development at PPH

Marianna’s responsibilities will include donor relations and philanthropy strategies to increase contributions in support of PPH. Her focus will include the Benevolent Care Fund, the Eberhard and Helen Schea Endowment Fund, Guardian Angels honorary gifts as well as tribute, employee, and honorary giving. Marianna is looking forward to working in the community to engage key stakeholders in all aspects of what PPH offers, to connect with residents and their caregivers, and work collaboratively with senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and our employees.

Marianna is a graduate of the University of Scranton and obtained her Master of Arts degree from Rider University. Marianna has commented on the “warm welcome” she has received from so many employees and residents and looks forward to meeting all and hearing the many stories residents wish to share. She commented, “My first impression is the warm atmosphere of caring and support and treating residents like family, which is important to me. Family first. PPH puts people first.”

When not at PPH, Marianna enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Reading, baking, taking walks, and going “down the shore” are some of her interests as well as watching movies and listening to music. And who could forget …. watching the Phillies and Eagles and rooting them on is always good for the soul!

Welcome to the PPH family, Marianna!

What Residents Say

"In my nine years at PPH, I’ve grown to like it very much. At first, I felt like a stranger and then as I began to talk to people, we increasingly became good friends. A way to meet people is to join clubs. I’m now part of the PPH Auxiliary. I love helping with their flea markets because you never know what you can find. Recently, I’ve joined an evening quilting class. I love that I can continue to enjoy my life outside of PPH while experiencing the offers here.…especially the pool! Everything is just so convenient.

What Families Say

"My mom is sooo happy at PPH, I can’t even describe it in strong enough words. She’s met so many new friends and these ladies do EVERYTHING together! She sees Dad every day in Pathways, but can have her life too. She’s gone to so many activities and I think I’ve already been to Scoops with her at least 15 times. She loves the dining room and Bistro too. My sister, Ilene, and I are so delighted that Mom is happy.......Wow, it feels like Mom’s been there about 2 years—but it’s only 2 months!! That’s how comfortable and natural it feels for her – and for all of us.
