Pathways Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Philadelphia, Pa., (May 2, 2018) –  Two decades ago, the entire PPH Family celebrated one of the most transformative events in our history – the Grand-Opening of Pathways Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Since then, the state-of-the-art center has become a comfortable and compassionate home for so many of the region’s most vulnerable senior residents in need.

At 10 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018, PPH proudly will commemorate Pathways’ 20 years of quality care and excellent service. The event will include a brief program, featuring keynote speaker, Retired Former Philadelphia Councilwoman Marian B. Tasco, and a heartfelt family testimonial from PPH board member William Gross. Pathways Nursing and Recreation Therapy staff and residents also will create a Memorial Time Capsule to commemorate the event and look ahead to 20 more years of excellence. Attendees will enjoy light refreshments, tours and educational posters featuring facts about the history and future of Pathways.

“We opened the doors to Pathways in 1998 with tremendous pride and vision for its future, but we never could have predicted just how profound of an impact we would make in the lives of so many families,” says Anthony Manzo, PPH President and Chief Executive Officer. In 1998 when Pathways opened its doors, Manzo served as Nursing Home Administrator at PPH.

In the two decades since its opening, Pathways has grown to become a beacon of hope for seniors, consistently earning and receiving recognition both by U.S. News & World Report as being among the Best Nursing Homes in the nation, as well as by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as a Five-Star rated healthcare center.

Since 1998, PPH has cared for nearly 4,000 (3,716) skilled nursing residents and provided nearly 1 million (920,304) days of care to skilled nursing and rehabilitation residents and community members combined.

What Residents Say

"In my two years at PPH, I’ve grown to like it very much. At first, I felt like a stranger and then as I began to talk to people, we increasingly became good friends. A way to meet people is to join clubs. I’m now part of the PPH Auxiliary. I love helping with their flea markets because you never know what you can find. Recently, I’ve joined an evening quilting class. I love that I can continue to enjoy my life outside of PPH while experiencing the offers here.….especially the pool! Everything is just so convenient.

– Lucille Hite, Independent Living resident

What Families Say

"My mom is sooo happy at PPH, I can’t even describe it in strong enough words. She’s met so many new friends and these ladies do EVERYTHING together! She sees Dad every day in Pathways, but can have her life too. She’s gone to so many activities and I think I’ve already been to Scoops with her at least 15 times. She loves the dining room and Bistro too. My sister, Ilene, and I are so delighted that Mom is happy.......Wow, it feels like Mom’s been there about 2 years—but it’s only 2 months!! That’s how comfortable and natural it feels for her – and for all of us.
